A TOTAL of 60,000 visitors are expected to throng the TLM Food and Beverage Expo during the three-day event starting today until July 3.

The third edition of the food and beverage expo is being held at the Setia SPICE Arena and Convention Centre in Bayan Lepas.

It is jointly organised by the TLM Management Sdn Bhd and Golden Chef College of Culinary Arts & Hospitality.

Apart from visiting booths, visitors also can take part in giveaways, lucky draws, happy hour promotions, and workshops. There are also goodies bags up for grabs.

Organising chairman Aleex Quah Boon Liang said the exhibition is the largest food and beverage expo in the northern region of Malaysia.

“As we can see today, the expo has received a very good response with thousands of people here and that is why we are expecting about 60,000 visitors for the three-day expo.

“About 120 exhibitors are participating in the expo this year, showcasing their best food products and services.

“So, these businesses came together not only to showcase their creations to new customers but also to reconnect with existing clients.

“There are also incredible deals and exciting programmes included to provide an unforgettable experience for the foodies.

“The TLM Food and Beverage Expo is also an amazing opportunity and platform for new businesses or start-ups in the F&B industry to promote themselves.

“After all, we also want to help new start-ups to build their business through this expo,” Quah said in his speech during the opening ceremony at Setia SPICE Convention Centre today.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who launched the event, commended the organisers as such an event could draw tourists and visitors to Penang.

Chow commended the organisers as such an event could draw tourists and visitors to Penang.

“By bringing everyone together through our shared love for food, it is the best way to network, build partnerships and excel together.

“After all, everyone needs to work together to continue to revive and grow our economy simply because the state government cannot succeed on its own.

“And this is why the state government has recently launched the LovePENANG campaign and I would like to invite all organisations to adopt the slogan as a mantra.

“It is a reminder that we all need to contribute to Penang’s growth because we truly love this state where we belong. We need to love Penang and make it a better place for our future generations.

“This is in line with the LovePENANG campaign, which is a call to action, urging the people to collectively propel the state forward,” he said.

Also present during the expo was Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng.
