A helping hand for kidney patient

BAGAN Jermal assemblyman Soon Lip Chee and Bagan MP Lim Guan Eng have come to the aid of a kidney patient.

Both of them contributed a total of RM2,000 to help Lim Hock Hin, 67, get his dialysis treatment due to kidney failure.

According to Soon, Hock Hin had asked for his help due to his worrying condition.

“He is desperate now as he cannot afford the cost of dialysis treatment amounting to about RM2,000 per month.

“His 89-year-old mother also suffered a stroke while his younger brother not only lost his sight due to diabetes but also suffered a stroke.

“So, they only depend on their eldest brother who works as a hawker and another younger brother who works as a machine operator to support the family.

“So, Hock Hin’s family is clearly incapable of supporting his dialysis treatment.

“Based on that, together with YB Lim, we have contributed RM1,000 each to help him undergo dialysis treatment. Hopefully, this will be able to reduce his burden a little bit,” said Soon during his visit to Hock Hin’s house on Aug 29.

Soon, who is also the state Youth and Sports Committee chairman, urged any good Samaritan to come forward to assist Hock Hin and his family.

“They can do so by contacting Bagan Jermal service centre at 04-3310163 or 012-4130362,” he added.
