CHIEF Minister Chow Kon Yeow received a pleasant surprise from his staff when they ‘ambushed’ him with a birthday cake at his office today.
As he emerged from a meeting, the 40-odd staff members broke into a birthday song.
Chow, who turns 61 today, sportingly blew the candle and cut the chocolate cake which was decorated in Penang state colours.
The staff also wished him good health, longevity and wisdom in leading Penang.
Also present were Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abd Rahman, Deputy Chief Minister II Prof Dr P. Ramasamy, State Financial Officer Datuk Sarul Bahiyah Abu and state Communications Director and Chief Minister’s press secretary Yap Lee Ying.
