THE search for Penang’s best young talents has returned, with the Penang Youth Talent Excellence Incentive Scheme launching BEST! Anak Penang 2026.
Launched during a press conference in Komtar earlier today, state Youth, Sports and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen said the scheme will serve as a platform to recognise the achievements of young Penangites and make their families, individuals and institutions proud while contributing to the state’s development.
“The scheme is not just a form of incentive, but a sign of appreciation and support from the Penang government to young people who have shown excellence and brought Penang’s name to the national and international stage,” he said.
Penang-based applicants aged between 15 and 30, who participate in eligible activities in Penang between September 1 and September 15, are invited to apply for the scheme. Applications are open now until Sept 30, 2026.
“I call on all young Penangites who meet the requirements and have achieved the set success to take this opportunity to receive the recognition they deserve,” Gooi said.
He added that the state government would continue its commitment to providing space, opportunities and support for young Penangites to share and develop their talents and achieve their full potential.
Also present at the press conference were state assemblymen and Penang Youth Talent Excellence Incentive Scheme members Connie Tan Hooi Peng and Phee Syn Tze; Penang Youth Development Centre board of directors member Muhammad Khairul Mohd Ali and general manager Edry Faizal Eddy Yusof; state Economic Planning Division representative Safi Hakemi Azhar; and Penang state Finance Department representative Noorhazlina Ishak.
