PENANG Development Corporation (PDC) will hold its 13th annual blood donation campaign over three days, says its general manager Mohd Bazid Abd Kahar.

“We hope this year more blood donors will come forward to support the programme. In view of PDC’s 50th anniversary, mystery prizes will be given to the early and successful 50 donors,” Mohd Bazid said.

“Blood donation is a noble practice which can help save lives, like the accident victims, leukemia patients, heart patients and others.

“For the last twelve campaigns, PDC has collected a total of 4,373 pints of blood for both Penang Hospital and Seberang Jaya Hospital.”

The campaign, which was launched since 2007 as part of PDC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), is usually held during the last week before the fasting month to help hospitals in the state replenish their blood supply during Ramadan.

Mohd Bazid said like previous years, PDC together with Ansara (Association of ex-students of Maktab Rendah Sains Mara) and Maksak (Welfare and Sports Association of Civil Servants Malaysia), Penang Hospital, Seberang Jaya Hospital, PDC Setia Urus Sdn Bhd and Mydin Bukit Mertajam would organise the PDC Blood Donation Campaign 2019.

The blood donation campaign this year will be held on June 15 (Saturday) at Lower Level, Mydin Bukit Mertajam, from 10am to 5pm and on June 18 & 19 (Tuesday & Wednesday) at concourse area at Level 3, Komtar from 10am to 5pm
