PENANG’s unique art and cultural scene has been documented via a special book titled ‘ARTivate Penang: A City of Art’ by Dr Paul Boey, with the aim to further promote and preserve the artistic and cultural heritage of the state.

State Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai thanked Boey for coming up with a book that encapsulates Penang’s art and cultural journey since the inscription of George Town as a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2008.

“Penang has always been actively organising art and cultural-related activities, which Boey has meticulously compiled these experiences into a book.

“The ARTivate is available in both Mandarin and English versions.

“The book is Dr Boey’s hard work, compiling 14 years of the development of Penang’s art and cultural scene, which we truly appreciate,” Wong said during his speech at the book launch ceremony at St. Jo’s in Gurney Paragon yesterday (November 6).

At the event, Boey also presented his complimentary copies to the dignitaries who were present, including former state executive councillor Chong Eng.
