CCTV cameras installed in Kampung Valdor

A TOTAL of 30 closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras have been installed in Kampung Valdor, Sungai Bakap, as a move to counter criminal activities in the area.

Batu Kawan MP Kasthuriraani Patto said the CCTVs were installed in December last year at a cost of RM11,400.

“The CCTVs were put up on most of the roads around the village.

“It was monitored accordingly by the local police here and also by the Village Community Management Council (MPKK) of Kampung Valdor.

“So, I think this is the right time to instal the CCTVs since the festive season such as Chinese New Year is just around the corner.

“I believe the crime rate will usually increase during this time.

“Thus, by the CCTVs’ installation, I hope the residents here will feel much safer,” Kasthuriraani told reporters when visiting the place at Kampung Valdor in Sungai Bakap today.

According to Kasthuriraani, apart from the CCTV initiative, Jalan 19 in Kampung Valdor was upgraded at a cost of RM19,900. The upgrading was completed in November last year.

Both of the projects were funded by Batu Kawan parliamentary service centre through Project Mesra Rakyat (PMR) allocation.
