VEGETARIAN community using the food delivery service app MULA Eats are entitled to a 45% discount with up to RM12 off per delivery in the Nine Emperor Gods’ Festival beginning this Saturday.

Thanks to the collaboration between the Penang government and MULA Eats, devotees who are observing a vegetarian diet for the nine-day festival, are able to enjoy the discount by keying in promo code ‘VEGEFEST’ up to five times with a RM15 minimum spending.

Known as the ‘Vegetarian Festival’ project, it is aimed at supporting the micro-businesses as well as small and medium enterprises (SMEs) affected by the movement control order (MCO).

State Social Development and Non-Islamic Religious Affairs Committee chairman Chong Eng said the collaboration has provided a new channel for micro-businesses and SMEs to reach out to their customers as well as to sustain their businesses.

“MULA Eats will provide a sum of RM75,000 in the form of promo codes, which will benefit all Penangites and encourage more to stay at home and avoid any crowded areas.

“New users can download MULA App in Google Playstore and Apple App Store,” Chong Eng said at a press conference in Komtar today.

Chong Eng added that MULA Eats had already approached vegetarian hawkers and restaurants to participate.

She pointed out it would benefit users and also the restaurants and hawkers especially during this challenging time.

MULA managing director Goh Kok Peow said MULA has launched its newest service MULA Eats.

“It is an on demand food ordering service that connects customers with global restaurants and facilitates food delivery.

“We help restaurant owners grow their businesses, stay ahead in this changing industry,” he said, adding that there are 400,000 registered users on MULA platform.
