CHINA’s star singer Xue Zhiqian will hold his 2019 tour concert at Spice Arena on Feb 14, especially for Penangites.
Music lovers get ready to join in the ‘Skyscraper’ concert on Valentine’s Day from 8pm.
Popularly known as Joker Xue, the Chinese singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, and television host won the 2017 Top Award Best Singer from China Musical Radio.
The ‘Skyscraper’ concert is organised by IME Entertainment Group Asia from Beijing, which is able to reach the Chinese music industry’s talented artists globally.
Tickets for the concert at Spice Arena are selling very fast with 80% already snapped up.
A packed house is expected as he has a legion of fans.
His hit numbers include ‘Just Right’, ‘Like the Wind’, ‘Snow’ and ‘Gentleman’.
“Penang is an ideal place as well as an attractive destination for concerts due to its vibrant atmosphere,” state Tourism Development, Heritage, Culture and Arts Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin told a press conference at Komtar today.
IME Entertainment Group Asia chairman Datuk Brian Chou said they would like to hold more happening concerts in Penang but face difficulty in getting available slots at the venue.
“It is one of the challenges faced by concert organisers.
“Other than that, we believe that the state government plays an important role in the promotional and marketing efforts of the concerts in order to encourage the growth of the industry in the state,” said Chou.
Yeoh added that they would incorporate Penang as an attractive concert destination into the Penang Tourism Masterplan to encourage the growth of the industry.
He also said the state would help to look into more possible venues in Penang for holding big concerts.
