AS part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme in conjunction with the joyous Chinese New Year celebration, Lexis Suites Penang visited 25 underprivileged senior citizens at Rumah Charis in Pulau Betong, Balik Pulau today.

The old folks, aged 63 to 92, were treated to a Chinese New Year feast.

The charity event started off with a meet-and-greet session between the residents of the home, their guardians and the hotel staff, led by general manager Ben Ho.

There was never a dull moment as the residents were treated to an exciting lion dance performance, interactive games and karaoke sessions.

The hotel executive chef Johnno and his team also prepared a sumptuous meal for those who were present.

They enjoyed the mouth-watering braised mushroom with chestnut, sweet and sour chicken meat ball and baked fish fillet with Kikkoman sauce.

The hotel also gave out red packets to the senior citizens and their guardians; besides donating groceries and other products to the home.

The residents and hotel staff also took part in the ‘yee sang’ tossing ceremony to mark a prosperous year.
