FOR the past two years, Penang has been seeing huge number of domestic travellers coming to the state.
Jen Hotel general manager Ody Odayappan conveyed this during a courtesy call on Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow today.
“As far as I know, the domestic tourism of Penang has bloomed over the past two years.
“On our hotel, we have completed our renovation and are introducing the free and easy concept, as compared to the previous contemporary style,” Odayappan said.
Replying to Odayappan, Chow said that domestic tourists are often ‘overlooked’.
“Sometimes we try so hard to attract tourists from overseas but the local tourists are here and they spend the same amount of money,” Chow said.
Also joining the visit were Jen Hotel director of sales and marketing Ernest Loi, sales executive Syasya Simon, digital communications senior executive Nadia Woo and communications manager Ellie Yeoh.
