Chow said various initiatives have been and are being implemented to ensure the continued well-being of the people.

“In recent years, Batu Kawan and its surrounding areas have witnessed rapid development, emerging as one of the state’s key economic growth centres.

“This progress has brought wide-ranging benefits to the local community.

“For instance, the development of the Automation Test Equipment campus in Batu Kawan is set to serve as a catalyst for the growth of Penang’s semiconductor and high-tech industry ecosystem,” he said during his speech at the Bukit Tambun Hari Raya Open House held at SJK (C) Keng Koon today.

Also present were Penang Trade and National Unity Committee chairman Goh Choon Aik, who is also the Bukit Tambun assemblyman and Penang Local Government and Town & Country Planning Committee chairman Jason H’ng Mooi Lye.

Chow also congratulated Goh on his recent appointment as a state executive councillor.

Meanwhile, Goh urged the Village Community Management Councils (MPKKs) and Kawasan Rukun Tetangga (KRT) to act as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the state government by reporting local issues and challenges faced in their respective areas to state representatives, Members of Parliament, and subsequently to the state or Federal Government for further action.

“Members of Parliament and state representatives must also stay close to the grassroots, ensuring that we are consistently on the ground to listen to the people’s concerns and resolve local issues as quickly as possible.

“MPKK and KRT play a crucial role as a bridge between the people and both the state and Federal Governments.

“I hope MPKK will continue to remain active, hold regular meetings, engage with the community, and stay attuned to the needs of the people,” he said.
