CNY drawing competition at shopping mall

THE service centre of Komtar assemblyman Teh Lai Heng and its Village Community Management Council (MPKK) are organising a Chinese New Year Drawing Competition.

 

The contest, with the theme ‘Happy & Prosperous Chinese New Year’, will be held at the 3rd floor, Prangin Mall on Feb 8.

 

Teh said the objective of the contest was to impart an understanding and meaning of the Lunar New Year to the children.

 

“It also to let the children express their imagination and creativity besides to awaken their artistic talents,” added Teh, who is also the political secretary to Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.

 

Also present were Prangin Mall – JMB marketing and Leasing manager Daniel Ng.

 

The contest will be divided into two categories: Primary (Year 1 -Year 6) and Secondary (Form 1 – Form 6).

 

For the primary category, the champion will receive RM150 shopping voucher, the first runner-up RM100 shopping voucher and the second runner-up RM50 shopping voucher.

 

There will be five consolation winners, who will get a RM30 shopping voucher each.

 

For the secondary category, the top three winners will walk away with RM300 shopping voucher, RM200 shopping voucher and RM100 shopping voucher respectively.

 

There will be five consolation prize winners, who will get a RM50 shopping voucher each.

 

All prize winners will also receive a trophy each.

 

The registration fee is RM10 and entry forms can be collected and submitted to No. 14, Jalan Talipon, 10400 George Town, Pulau Pinang. The closing date for submission of entry forms is Feb 3.

On another matter, Teh said a weekend food market has been set up as from Jan 11 at the Penang International Container Art Festival (PICAF) 2019 area (Landscape A@ Prangin Mall) in Jalan Dr Lim Chwee Leong in George Town.

 

“There are more than 70 stalls, consisting of 50 food stalls and 20 displaying arts and crafts.

 

“We hope tourists and locals alike will patronise the area to check out the famous Penang hawker food, souvenirs and other items from 5pm to 10pm

 

“Besides, invitation is also extended for new hawkers who like to trade in the area,” he added.
