CTSM of Citigroup warmly receives CM

CHIEF Minister Chow Kon Yeow’s visit to the Citi Transaction Services Malaysia (CTSM) centre on Oct 9 at One Precinct in Bayan Baru was warmly received by members of its top management.

The centre, one of two in Penang, is the largest regional Trade & Cash processing centre, which handles approximately 69 million transactions annually with a value of about US$27 trillion. Nearly 1,200 experienced and dedicated employees at the centre service the interests of Citibank clients across Asia, North America, Europe, Japan and China – 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The other centre is located at Northam Tower in Pulau Tikus.

The CTSM top management were led by their managing director and CTSM head Srinath Sambasivan who briefed the chief minister on the operations of the centre and provided details on their expansion plans, human talent development as well as vital figures and statistics on the performance of the centre.

Others in the CTSM top management who were present and equally elated with Chow’s visit were Jamin Kong (Vice President), Teng Hooi Joo (CSC Citiservice), Loh Chee Keong (Trade Finance / HK Exp), Siew Kim Tan (APAC Cash Payments, Regional Processing & Cash Operations), George Lim (LC Issuance/HK Operations), Ong Siew Hooi (PG CSC HR), Pamela Woon (Senior Trade Advisor), Mir Hafiz (CSTS, TTS Ops – Dalian/Shanghai), Joshua Ooi (Doc Check/GTEE/TSP), Lynette Lee (TTS Governance Asia Pacific & Global Trade), Audrey Foo (Operations Support & CTSM Wholesale Cards Client Ops – Penang/Dalian), Shailesh Bagwe (Asia TTS ASU Head) and Lim Kim Mei (SG Operations/Advising/Confirmation).

There was also a cake-cutting ceremony to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the CTSM which began operations in Penang since 1993. Citi was the pioneer bank to have decided on Malaysia as a hub for its process outsourcing for financial services. The hub provides operations support to Trade and Cash management as well as Commercial Cards businesses of Citigroup. Its large array of customers includes multinational corporations, financial institutions, large corporations and small-and-medium enterprises across the globe.
