FOR the 11th year, Kids Day Out will return to bring joy to children with cancer, giving them an opportunity to enjoy a day of activities, play and family time.

Organised by the North Region Children’s Cancer Friends Association (Foccan), the programme was announced by state Youth, Sports and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen during a press conference at Komtar today.

Founded in 2016, the association is expecting between 150 and 170 children to participate in this year’s event on Sept 16. Additional booths and activities will also be available for families and children to enjoy.

Gooi says the event will bring joy and hope to children with cancer.

Gooi highlighted the importance of the programme in bringing joy, enthusiasm and hope to children with cancer.

“Through Kids Day Out 2026, we want to give them the space to be themselves as children, to play, have fun and enjoy a day without even thinking about the challenges they are going through,” he said.

“When a child faces cancer, the challenge is not only experienced by the children themselves, but also felt by the entire family,” he added.
