DOCTORS are not only healers of individuals but also the very pillars that uphold society, said Penang Youth, Sports and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen.
Speaking at the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) Penang Branch Doctors’ Day Celebration 2025 at G Hotel Gurney in George Town this evening, Gooi commended doctors for their invaluable contributions in safeguarding the well-being of families, strengthening communities, and shaping a healthier future for both the state and the nation.

“The trust and confidence that the people place in you reflect your integrity, skill, and unwavering commitment,” he said.
Gooi emphasised that the state government recognises the crucial role of doctors in advancing public health and fortifying the healthcare system.
“The Penang government remains committed to working hand in hand with the medical fraternity to ensure that doctors are supported, appreciated, and empowered to continue fulfilling your noble mission,” he added.
He also conveyed his deepest appreciation to all medical practitioners across Penang for their dedication, compassion, and steadfast service to the people.
“Whether in hospitals, clinics, or within our communities, you have stood at the frontline of care, often under immense pressure, yet always with professionalism and empathy,” Gooi said.
He concluded his speech by extending heartfelt gratitude to every doctor for their continued contributions to the state’s healthcare excellence.
“May this Doctors’ Day serve as a reminder of the countless lives you have touched and inspire all of us to continue striving for excellence in healthcare,” he said.
Also present were MMA Penang branch chairman Datuk Dr Parmjit Singh, MMA Penang branch honorary treasurer Dr M. Vairavan, MMA Penang branch vice-chairman Dr Divagar Varatha Raju and MMA Penang branch honorary secretary Dr Prabhu Ramasamy.
