AS the curtain comes down on 2020 in a day’s time, the invaluable services of the frontliners, such as firemen, are not forgotten.

Sungai Pinang assemblyman Lim Siew Khim said she fully appreciated the contributions made by the firemen from the Jalan Perak Fire and Rescue Department and presented 55 of their children a RM60 voucher and a box of toy each.

She added that during this Covid-19 pandemic, many are impacted by it and are hoping for a better year in 2021.

The children, from primary and secondary schools, looked cheerful after receiving the gifts from Lim.

“They can use the voucher to buy some stuff needed when the school session resumes.

“The voucher is redeemable at a nearby shop in Jelutong.

“The amount is not much but at least it can be useful for them during this challenging period.

“It’s our recognition to the firemen, who are also the frontliners,” she told reporters after handing out the vouchers to the children.

Jalan Perak Fire and Rescue Department head A’ Azelan Hassan thanked Lim for the contribution.

He expressed hope that the cooperation between them would continue in the future.
