LOUD chants of ‘Kita Boleh’ filled the air at a hotel in Bukit Tengah as Penang Pakatan Harapan leaders, supporters and media personnel gathered to follow the results of the 15th General Election (GE15).
At 10.10pm, Penang Pakatan Harapan chairman Chow Kon Yeow delivered a powerful speech, thanking the Batu Kawan voters for accepting Pakatan Harapan’s message and vision to save Malaysia.
“At press time, we are still waiting for the official results.
“We hope that Pakatan Harapan would have enough seats to form the Federal Government,” he told the crowd.
Chow was grateful to the three state assemblymen – Prof Dr P. Ramasamy (Perai), Gooi Hsiao-Leung (Bukit Tengah), and Goh Choon Aik (Bukit Tambun) – for relentlessly helping him and Harapan throughout the GE15 campaign period.
“A heartfelt thanks also go to the Harapan team and the media for being with us throughout this period,” he said.
Before heading to the Batu Kawan parliamentary counting centre, Chow ended his speech with a strong statement that Harapan would continue to fight for a better Malaysia.
