Feeding the homeless and B40 community

ROSE Charities Malaysia is looking forward to feed the homeless and the B40 community when the ‘Feed the Homeless & B40 Food Aid Appeal’ project starts on June 19.

The project was launched on May 8, but it has been rescheduled to start from June 19 due to the movement control order (MCO).

It is a collaboration between Rose Charities Malaysia, Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara Pulau Pinang, Council of the Justices of the Peace Association, Whytehouse Education Group and several corporate organisations.

Rose Charities Malaysia president Datuk Lawrence Cheah said the project was aimed at helping the less fortunate during this challenging period.

“The contributions and support from the sponsors will enable us to prepare lunch packs for the needy for four Saturdays,” he said recently.

Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara Pulau Pinang president Tan Lean Kee, who launched the project in Codrington Avenue on May 8, said the ‘Feed the Homeless & B40 Food Aid Appeal’ project was very meaningful.

“We should try to make a difference in the lives of others.

“The Covid-19 has affected our lives, but it failed to make us less human towards one another.

“On the contrary, it made us more sensitive towards the plight of our neighbours,” she said.

Tan said the lunch packs would be prepared by the volunteers from Rose Charities Malaysia and Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara Pulau Pinang.

The project is aimed at feeding some 200 needy people every Saturday, beginning June 19.
