A TOTAL of RM10,300 financial assistance has been handed over to fire victims in Taman Lintang, Air Itam today.
The contribution was presented by Air Putih assemblyman Lim Guan Eng.
Lim said his Air Putih service centre provided RM5,000 allocation for the victims while the Penang TYT Disaster Relief Fund contributed RM5,000 and Social Welfare Department gave RM300.
“I hope with this assistance, it can at least lessen the burden of the victims in facing these unforeseen difficulties,” he said.
Also present during the handover ceremony were Bukit Bendera MP Wong Hon Wai and Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng.
The fire destroyed two double-storey terrace houses at Taman Lintang in Air Itam during the wee hours today.
A woman died from the incident.
The cause of the fire and the total loss incurred have yet to be ascertained.
