THE Penang Chinese Recreation Club (CRC Penang) is organising a football tournament in memory of the late legendary coach Moey Yoke Ham.
The competition’s committee chairman Ong Joon Kwang said the Moey Yoke Ham Cup youth football tournament would be held on Sept 10 and 11.
“The round robin matches (eight teams in total) will be played at Universiti Sains Malaysia from 8.30am to 6pm on the first day (Sept 10).
“Meanwhile, the semi-final and final matches will be played at CRC on Sept 11 from 2pm to 6pm,” he said in a statement recently.
Ong said that CRC Penang would also be hosting a grand dinner for the immediate family members and close friends of the late ‘Uncle Moey’ as well as the eight participating teams.
The participating teams are CRC Penang, Huaren Recreation Association (KL), Kedah Chinese FA, Perak CRC, Lagenda FC (Malacca), Johor Bahru City Chinese FA, Chukai FC (Terengganu), and Selangor CRC.
Ong hoped that football fans would come out in droves to enjoy the two-day event.
He also thanked Inter Great, Boon Siew Group and Emico for supporting the event.
