EDEN Handicap Service Centre received a six-seater vehicle from Rotary Club of Georgetown on Oct 1.

The co-founder and general manager of EDEN handicap service centre Bertie Tye conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the Rotary Club for their thoughtful gesture.

“In 2014, we received a vehicle specially designed for those who are physically challenged and now we are getting another vehicle which is a six-seater (MPV) from the club. We really appreciate their contribution to cater to the special needs of the centre (EDEN handicap service centre).

“We would like to thank the Georgetown Rotary Club for supporting us.

“Here, I would like to also highlight something. We are in need of funds to modify a vehicle and the cost is estimated at around RM3,000.

“This is to enable those physically-disabled people to drive the vehicle,” said Tye.

Those present during the vehicle handing over ceremony at the Caring Society Complex were the Georgetown Rotary Club fund raising chairman Lee Peng Loon, the district governor 3300 (Rotary Club Penang) Dr. G.Baskaran and EDEN Handicap Service Centre co-founder Madelene Tan.

EDEN Handicap Service Centre which is a charitable non-profit organisation caters to some 176 people with disabilities and has 70 staff members where some of them are also people with special needs.
