RESIDENTS of Taman Sri Idaman in Bandar Baru Air Itam heaved a sigh of relief now that both water tanks at their apartment have been repaired.

Taman Sri Idaman Joint Management Body chairman Lee Chin Teong said the JMB sought help from the Penang government to repair the tanks and its application was approved in August.

“We were worried when we noticed that both of our water tanks were leaking. We are thankful that the people-friendly Penang government extended their help and promptly approved our application under the Penang Maximum 80% Maintenance Fund (TPM80PP).

“The repair was completed within three months in November. We are grateful to the state government and Paya Terubong assemblyman Yeoh Soon Hin for their assistance,” he said when met at the low-cost flat today.

Yeoh said that the JMB only needed to pay 20% of the overall repair cost under the TPM80PP.

“The state government will bear 80% of the RM66,000 total repair cost,” he said.

Yeoh, Lee and some residents also went up to the roof of the flat to check out the newly-repaired water tanks.
