Honouring our Karate exponents who did us proud!

THE 42nd anniversary dinner of Penang Goshinryu Karate Association on Dec 13 was attended by about 250 people who were made up of Penang athletes and coaches as well as foreigners from Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Dubai and even members from the Polis DiRaja Malaysia.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who was guest of honour, paid tribute to the Karate exponents who brought glory to Penang in the recently concluded SUKMA Games in Perak.

“I’m very happy to see such a big gathering of Karate exponents here tonight. I believe that this is a proof of the continuous dedication and commitment of our Penang Karate coaches and athletes in producing successful athletes who brought honour to the state at International platforms such as SEA Games, Asian Games and World Championships.”

“In the just concluded SUKMA Perak, Penang emerged as the overall champion again in Karate. This is the 10th SUKMA series that Penang has consecutively hold on to the overall champion title,” Chow said in his speech at Gurney Resort Hotel.

Also present were state exco member for Youth & Sports Soon Lip Chee, Batu Lancang assemblyman Ong Ah Teong, Penang Goshinryu Karate Association president Datuk Patrick Lim and OCM vice president Datuk Ong Poh Eng.
