Industry players do their part for Penang Hospital

 

SIX industry players in Penang today showed their concern to the fronliners and Covid-19 patients by contributing various medical equipment amounting to over RM1.5 million and more aid is expected to flow in to the Penang Hospital in coming weeks.

They are Keysight Technologies, Motorola Solution Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Inari, Jabil, Intel and Micron Technology.

investPenang chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Loo Lee Lian thanked the in-kind contributions from the corporations to the frontliners in need of the critical items during this time.

She said she was glad to see that the kep players have come forward to lend their support for the frontliners in the battle against the virus.

“Through a donation drive by investPenang as well as American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce’s (AMCHAM) Cares, numerous corporates continue to pour in their generous contributions of personal protective equipment (PPE) and medical equipment.

“They have been reaching out and helping in every possible manner by assisting with sourcing the short supply of PPEs and purchase of equipment that were urgently needed.

“A huge thank you to all the industry players for their effort,” she told the media at the Penang Hospital today.

The items that were received by the hospital included masks, gloves, face shields, isolation and medical gowns, thermometers, patient monitors, blood pressure monitoring devices, ultrasound system,  Reverse Osmosis blood dialysis machine, laptops and printers.

Representatives of the six corporations and Penang Hospital director Teo Gim Sian were present at the presentation.
