AS the Hari Raya Aidilfitri draws nearer, M Summit 191 Executive Hotel Suites organised a two-day breaking fast event here for 45 needy children from an orphanage and a religious school.

The orphanage and religious school are located in Kepala Batas and Sungai Ara respectively.

The two-day event, which took place on April 30 and yesterday (May 1), saw all the kids receiving goodie bags worth over RM50 each from the hotel.

Twenty-five of them, aged between four and 17, who had attended the breaking fast event on April 30, were from the Rumah Anak Kesayangan Kepala Batas; while 20 others, aged 11 to 18, on the second day were from Madrasah Tahfiz Darul Ukasha in Sungai Ara.

Among the items they received were Raya motif face masks, school bags, stationery items, lunch boxes, fancy cups, toys and cookies.

The hotel is a part of M Summit Group, a well-renowned property developer here.

Its founder and managing director Datuk Albert Moh, who was present during this auspicious event, said while the country is still heavily involved in multiple efforts to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, people can still celebrate during this Raya, provided they don’t let their guard down and abide by the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

“Let us keep our celebratory mood going, but always remember to stay safe and follow all the strict health and safety measures.

“Amidst these challenging times, it is even more important to help those in need of a helping hand.

“It is amazing to see so many wonderful kids here with us today.

“Let us take this time and make it count. These are among the many good things that we should learn to cherish in life,” said Moh during his speech at the ‘Jom Beriftar Sambil Beramal’ breaking fast event at M Summit 191 Executive Hotel Suites on April 30.

The kids, along with the hotel representatives and a group of reporters, were treated to a mouthwatering buffet feast at The Skye Event Space.

Separately, apart from the goodies, both the orphanage and school also received RM2,000 each from the hotel.

Also present during the event were the hotel’s general manager Moh Wei Ken, M Summit Group purchasing director Datin Jennifer Ong and the hotel’s corporate communications manager Ng Su-Ann.
