THE exciting KBJ Penang Pet Lovers Fiesta is returning to Bukit Jambul Complex (KBJ) this month!

Lovable, mischievous, and ‘fashionista’ cats are set to grab centre stage at the Cat Fashion Show on Sept 24. The theme for the fashion show is ‘Traditional’.

Besides the Cat Fashion Show, two cat competitions – Long-haired Cat Competition and Short-haired Cat Competition – are scheduled to be held on Sept 24 and 25 respectively.

KBJ joint management body chairman Datuk K.H. Chan said the upcoming two-day fiesta is one of KBJ’s most awaited events of the year.

“I believe that it will be another fascinating event for everyone to bring their families and spend quality time together at KBJ. The fiesta will be held at the shopping complex’s Summer Wing Concourse and Promenade Area.

“Among other programmes include a mini petting zoo, pets and exotic animals exhibition, a photo session with pets, kids LED car ride, mascot appearance, and a snake show.

“There will also be game stalls and our ‘Giant Yellow Duck’ to attract more children to the fiesta.

“Visitors can also ride a pony at the Promenade Area, and the collections received will be donated to selected cat shelters in Penang as part of our corporate social responsibility programme,” he told a media conference at KBJ today.

Chan said visitors could also adopt stray cats for free at the ‘Cat Adoption Drive’ booth by Meowy Cat Shelter Penang (stray cat home).

He thanked the Penang government, co-organiser JM Cat House, event partner Audi Dream Farm, main sponsor Keysha Nutrish, and other sponsors.

Penang Entrepreneurial Development, Trade and Industry Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Halim Hussain said the fiesta would provide opportunities for the community to spend quality time with their families in a safe, healthy, and fun environment.

“It also encourages children to interact with animals, gain knowledge on animal care and increase empathy towards animals; besides creating business opportunities for traders,” he said.
