THE sacrifices of those unsung heroes in Air Itam and Air Putih constituencies are recognised and appreciated, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

They are the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) frontliners, who day in and day out, labour to keep the streets and environment clean.

Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng held another annual thanksgiving event this year for them in appreciation of their contributions to the society.

In an event held in accordance with the relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs), Ng said the tradition of holding this event must continue.

The MBPP frontliners are treated to a sumptuous meal during the thanksgiving event.

“All of them are playing pivotal roles in ensuring Air Itam and Air Putih constituencies remain clean.

“Therefore, this event is held to value their hard work in serving the constituents, no matter rain or shine,” he said in his speech during the event at Astaka Kampung Bharu today.

About 120 MBPP frontliners were present during the event. They were treated to a sumptuous meal.

Also present were MBPP councillors Tan Soo Siang, Darren Quah and Rohaizat Hamid.
