THE residents of Taman Impian, Bukit Mertajam can look forward to enjoying a new basketball court by end of this month.
Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim said that construction works progress on the RM436,800 basketball court was at 95%.
“The sheltered basketball court can also serve as a venue for community activities besides basketball games.
“This project was approved when I was the Youth and Sports Deputy Minister.
“The construction works started in March this year but they were delayed due to the movement control order (MCO). The works resumed recently,” Sim told reporters after inspecting the project today.
Machang Bubok assemblyman Lee Khai Loon was glad that the works had resumed.
“There are more than 10 basketball courts in Machang Bubok and three of them are sheltered,” he said.
Also present was Taman Impian village chief Ng Keng Tong.
