AUDIOPHILES and music enthusiasts are in for a treat as the fourth edition of the Northern International Audio and Visual Show 2026 (NIAVS 2026) returns in full force at the Setia Spice Convention Centre in Bayan Lepas.

Taking place from today until April 19 (Sunday), the three-day showcase runs daily from 10am to 6pm, drawing visitors into an immersive world of high-fidelity sound and cutting-edge visual technology.

Organised by Gryphon Production and supported by the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB), this year’s edition promises an elevated experience, celebrating innovation, craftsmanship and the latest advancements in the global audio-visual industry.

Wong described NIAVS 2026 as a standout edition, featuring 45 exhibitors representing an impressive spectrum of international brands.

“These exhibitors hail from Canada, the United States, Japan, China, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands and Taiwan.

“This clearly demonstrates Penang’s growing reputation as a destination for specialised, high-quality business events on the international stage,” he said.

Wong emphasised that the exhibition goes far beyond a conventional showcase of audio and visual products.

“Instead, it represents a dynamic convergence of ideas, innovation, design and technology, key pillars of the creative economy that continue to shape the future of commerce and culture.

“A niche exhibition like this opens up new market segments, connects communities and creates exciting opportunities for businesses, enthusiasts and consumers alike,” he added.

He also noted that NIAVS 2026 comes at a timely juncture as the nation prepares for Visit Malaysia Year 2026, highlighting the strategic role such events play in attracting quality visitors and boosting tourism spending.

“Events like this help position Penang as a vibrant and diverse destination. At the same time, they align closely with the aspirations of Penang 2030 to build a family-focused, green and smart state with a thriving economy.

“By hosting high-value and niche exhibitions, Penang strengthens its standing as a dynamic hub for innovation, talent and investment, while generating meaningful economic spillover across tourism, hospitality and the broader business ecosystem,” he said.

Among those present at the opening ceremony were Seri Delima assemblyman Connie Tan Hooi Peng, Berapit assemblyman Heng Lee Lee, PCEB chief executive officer Ashwin Gunasekeran and Gryphon Production director Wilson Teoh.
