FOR the fifth consecutive year, the Padang Kota Service Centre team organised a Christmas luncheon on Dec 8 to share the joy of the festive season with the underprivileged in society.

For this year, the meaningful occasion was held at the Olive Three Hotel and seven homes which care for the underprivileged were invited to join the luncheon namely House of Hope, Special Children’s Centre of Penang, St Joseph Home, Crystal Family Home, Relau Rumah Charis, PBA Senior Citizens’ Home and Bethesda Senior Home.

The invited guests including volunteers from co-organiser Women BizSENSE were entertained with choir performances, a play as well dance performance by special children.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who’s also Padang Kota assemblyman, attended the event with his wife Mdm Tan Lean Kee and made known his appreciation for all who were present for being able to be part of the joy for Christmas.

“This started as a small community event in Padang Kota where we invited the Kedah Road community. I’m particularly blessed for the past five years to be able to celebrate this very special Christmas event with all of you,” Chow said in his welcoming speech at Olive Tree Hotel.

Also present were Chow’s political secretary Teh Lai Heng and Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Daniel Gooi as well as MBPP councillors Wong Yuee Harng and Gerald Mak.
