CHIEF Minister Chow Kon Yeow expresses optimism for the swift progress of the Penang-Perak water deal, highlighting ongoing technical negotiations.

The project, largely set to take place in Perak, involves discussions at the state level.

“Presently, discussions regarding the technical aspects are still in progress,” Chow told the media at Penang Institute today.

Chow highlighted the next steps, including fine-tuning details like water tariff, agreement duration, and other technical aspects.

Chow was attending the Green Production Forum.

On a separate matter regarding the need for cloud seeding in Penang, Chow said it would be done based on necessity.

“Assessing the situation, the decision to proceed will be contingent on the need.

“Moreover, cloud seeding does not guarantee success. The preference is for natural rainfall, and we remain hopeful for such occurrences,” he added.
