THE Baha’i community has approached Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow to seek his help to secure a burial site.

Five members from the Penang Baha’i Centre, led by Regional Baha’i Council (Northern Peninsula Malaysia) chairman Chew Beng Cheong, paid a courtesy call on the Chief Minister today.

Chew sought Chow’s assistance to secure a cemetery (about two acres) for the Baha’i community in Penang.

“We have been pursuing this matter for a very long time but to no avail,” Chew said.

Chew also congratulated Chow on his appointment as the Penang Chief Minister and hoped that the Baha’i community could work together with the state for the betterment of Penang.

Chow said he would look into the matter and proposed a piece of land in Batu Kawan to be used as the burial site.
