PENANG struck gold in the Tenpin Bowling men’s trio final at the 2026 Malaysia Games (SUKMA), with the trio of Nyak Arif Hakimi Nyak Mazlan, Mohammad Zuhair Zailani and Muhammad Hafiz Darwisy Azhlan combining for an impressive total score of 1,916.
The Penang bowlers delivered a composed and determined performance at Sunway Pyramid Bowling (Sunway Megalanes) on Aug 20, holding their nerve through the final to secure the gold medal and add another major achievement to Penang’s SUKMA campaign.

Penang Tenpin Bowling team manager Wong Siew Hong, also known as Janette, described the victory as the result of the team’s determination, discipline and unwavering belief in one another.
“What a journey, what a fight, and what an incredible achievement! I am beyond proud of every single one of our athletes,” she said.
She said the gold medal represented much more than the result recorded on the scoreboard, highlighting the sacrifices and hard work that went into preparing the athletes for the Games.
“This gold is not just about the medal, it represents the countless hours of training, sacrifices, pressure, tears, laughter and the strong belief we have in one another,” she said.

Wong also credited the coaches, officials, parents, supporters and everyone working behind the scenes for their contributions towards the victory.
“This medal belongs to all of us. To my athletes, remember this feeling. You earned it. Be proud, stay humble, and keep believing,” she added.

With the trio successfully combining their individual strengths and maintaining their focus under pressure, Penang emerged as the champions with 1,916 points, securing a memorable gold for the state.
“We fought together. We won together. Penang, this gold is for you!” Wong said.
