Penang welcomes new state-level PLANMalaysia director

NEWLY-APPOINTED PLANMalaysia@Penang (Penang Town and Country Planning Department) director Rozita Hamit is looking forward to work closely with the state government to focus on several issues in Penang for the well-being of the people.

 

Rozita had started serving as the new PLANMalaysia@Penang director since Oct 27 this year, after she took over from former director Robi Desa who went into retirement in May this year.

Rozita has been with the PLANMalaysia at the federal level for more than 10 years, serving several divisions in PLANMalaysia.

 

“I hope to work together with the state government. Together, we want to spur the state’s physical planning for the wellbeing of the society.

 

“So, on behalf of PLANMalaysia@Penang, we look forward to a great collaboration and complementing each other,” Rozita said during a courtesy call on Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow in Komtar today.

 

Also present was PLANMalaysia@Penang deputy director Mohd Bashir Sulaiman.

Rozita said among the issues that would be focused on under her leadership are public transportation, traffic, urban and rural development, and affordable housing.

 

Chow welcomed Rozita as the new director for PLANMalaysia@Penang.

 

“We hope that the state and PLANMalaysia@Penang can work closely and achieve success together.

 

“We look forward to working with you,” he said.
