AS part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, PM International (Malaysia) donated RM40,000 to help build a pergola at the Linear Park in Rifle Range, Penang.

The shelter, measuring six metres by 10 metres with three metres in height, will be built by Kar Hong Glass Sdn Bhd.

“This is our way of giving back to the society,” said PM International chief executive officer Paul Yung, who handed the cheque to Kebun Bunga assemblyman Jason Ong Khan Lee yesterday.

Ong receives the mock cheque.

The construction of the pergola will start soon and is expected to be completed in July this year.

Yung was at Northam Suite Hotel for a two-day leadership training by Fitline Business Academy.

PM International is a German company which carries the Fitline range of health supplements and has been operating in Malaysia for the last 16 years, since 2003.

Thanking Yung and the company, Ong hopes the pergola would be completed as soon as possible.

“By then, residents of Rifle Range can start utilising the shelter for their various activities and programmes,” he said.

Ong added that the Linear Park has always been very close to his heart and he hopes to continue to make improvements to the it.

“Currently, I am planning to install CCTVs around the park and the adjacent car park to enhance the safety and security of the residents,” he said.
