“In fact, our members like private hospital specialists, private solo specialists and private general practitioners have carried out their respective work during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“All these efforts have been continued until now, which include Covid-19 testings, treatments and vaccination,” he said during
his courtesy call on Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow in Komtar today.

Accompanying him during the visit were PMPS newly-elected management committee members.

They included president-elect Dr Francis Lau, immediate past president Dr Parmjit Singh, honorary secretary Dr Saravanakkumaran Perumal, committee members Dr M. Kirubakaran and Dr Somaskandar Sivasuntharam.

Some of them also briefed Chow on the association’s efforts to assist the state in the ongoing Covid-19 situation, PMPS annual dinner, state health carnival, Peka B40 health screening and other related matters.

On the Covid-19 situation, Dr Tan said everything has started to return to normalcy while hoping for the situation to remain under control.

Chow, who noted some points during the discussion, said the coordination among the local community was important when any crisis, like floods, happened.

“In Penang, we have a lot of volunteer groups and we should mobilise them at the various localities.

“State Welfare and Environment Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh is an experienced person to facilitate the whole process. This he did when the floods occurred,” he said.

Chow said he also looked forward to attending PMPS annual dinner scheduled on Nov 20 this year.
