The registration for the ‘Simply Komtar Kids Karaoke Competition 2019’ is now open.
Komtar assemblyman Teh Lai Heng said the singing competition aimed at providing a platform for children to showcase their talent.
“It will also help to build confidence and self-esteem among the children.
“It will be an exciting event where visitors can have a fun while family members can foster closer relationship with one another,” Teh told a press conference in Komtar today.
The event is jointly organised by PDC Setia Urus and Simply Komtar.
The competition will be held at 2pm on Feb 17 at Level 3, Komtar (in front of KFC).
The contest is divided into two categories – Group A (children aged four to nine) and Group B (aged 10 to 15).
PDC Setia Urus chief executive officer Datuk Ang Choo Hong said the registration fee is RM40.
“The contestants can choose to sing in Chinese language or English.
“The winner will win RM168 cash and a trophy, while the runner-up will take home RM128 cash and a trophy.
“The third prize winner will bag RM88 cash and a trophy. There are 22 consolation prizes to be won,” Ang said.
He added that there would also be a lion dance of stilts performance at the Komtar Maybank entrance on Feb 11 at 11am.
Registration for the singing competition is open until Feb 8.
