SEBERANG Perai City Council (MBSP) is always committed to supporting any green project
towards making MBSP a low carbon city and smart city by 2022.
MBSP mayor Datuk Rozali Mohamud said Growth Community Market in Auto-City Juru has been playing an important part in promoting a healthy lifestyle through community involvement by selling organic and natural products.
“Currently, there are about 40 stalls operating there and this shows a very encouraging support from the community.
“The organic market also serves as a platform for local entrepreneurs from all over Penang to sell their agricultural and homemade products.
“At the same time, the requirement for the products to be marketed here must have at least 70% organic and natural ingredients,” Rozali said in his speech before officiating the second anniversary of the Growth Community Market at Auto-City Juru near Bukit Mertajam recently.
According to Rozali, MBSP values every cooperation and commitment from various parties in making the Growth Community Market a success.
“As an example, the venue was provided free of charge by Auto-City Juru to encourage local entrepreneurs to participate in the project,” he said.
Growth Community Market in Auto-City Juru opens on the second Sunday of every month from 8am till noon.
The green initiative project is started by entrepreneurs Chee Hoyyee and Joeyin Chuah from Pop & Chee Healthy Home Farming.
