THE State Legislative Assembly has approved the motions to appoint members to five crucial committees: Public Accounts Committee, Committee on Privileges, House Committee, Standing Orders Committee, and Constitution Committee.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow proposed committee members for the Public Accounts Committee, Committee on Privileges, House Committee, and Standing Orders Committee while Deputy Chief Minister I Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid proposed the names for the Constitution Committee.
The appointed members of Public Accounts Committee include chairman Muhammad Fauzi Yusoff (PN-Sungai Dua), Teh Lai Heng (PH-Komtar), Heng Lee Lee (PH-Berapit), Wong Yuee Harng (PH-Pengkalan Kota), Tan Hooi Peng (PH-Seri Delima), Joshua Woo (PH-Pulau Tikus), Goh Choon Aik (PH-Bukit Tambun), Lee Kai Loon (PH-Machang Bubok), Bukhori Ghazali (PN-Pinang Tunggal) and Zulkefli Bakar (PN-Penanti).
The Committee on Privileges comprises Teh Lai Heng (PH-Komtar), Ong Ah Teong (PH-Batu Lancang), Wong Yuee Harng (PH-Pengkalan Kota), Chee Yeeh Keen (PH-Bagan Jermal), Gooi Hsiao-Leung (PH-Bukit Tengah), A. Kumaresan (PH-Batu Uban), Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican (BN-Bertam), Amir Hamzah Abdul Halim (PN-Permatang Pasir), Nor Zamri Latiff (PN-Sungai Bakap) and Azmi Alang (PN-Telok Ayer Tawar).
The House Committee includes Teh Lai Heng (PH-Komtar), Joseph Ng (PH-Air Itam), Heng Lee Lee (PH-Berapit), Wong Yuee Harng (PH-Pengkalan Kota), A. Kumaresan (PH-Batu Uban), Lee Boon Heng (PH-Kebun Bunga), Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican (BN-Bertam), Mohd Yusni Mat Piah (PN-Penaga), Mohd Shukor Zakariah (PN-Pulau Betong) and Muhamad Kasim (PN-Telok Bahang).
The Standing Orders Committee comprise Phee Syn Tze (PH-Sungai Puyu), Joseph Ng (PH-Air Itam), K. Kumaran (PH-Bagan Dalam), Chee Yeeh Keen (PH-Bagan Jermal), Lee Khai Loon (PH-Machang Bubok), Lee Boon Heng (PH-Kebun Bunga), Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican (BN-Bertam), Mohd Sobri Saleh (PN-Permatang Berangan), Nor Zamri Latiff (PN-Sungai Bakap), Izhar Shah Datuk Arif Shah (PN-Seberang Jaya).
State Assembly Speaker Datuk Law Choo Kiang chairs three of the five committees, namely the Committee on Privileges, House Committee and Standing Orders Committee.
The Constitution Committee, chaired by Chow, includes Ong Ah Teong (PH-Batu Lancang), Phee Syn Tze (PH-Sungai Puyu), Tan Hooi Peng (PH-Seri Delima), K.Kumaran (PH-Bagan Dalam), Joshua Woo (PH-Pulau Tikus), Goh Choon Aik (PH-Bukit Tambun), Gooi Hsiao-Leung (PH-Bukit Tengah), Muhammad Fauzi Yusoff (PN-Sungai Dua), Bukhori Ghazali (PN-Pinang Tunggal), Zulkefli Bakar (PN-Penanti).
