Straits Quay to hold the Christmas Charity Bazaar, come Nov 24.

THIS is the 8th year the highly successful Christmas Charity Bazaar is held at Straits Quay Retail Marina in Penang.

The function which is expected to attract 12,000 visitors will be launched on November 24 by exco for Welfare, Environment and Caring Society, Phee Boon Poh.

“Entertainment for the launch will be performed by youngsters of Shan Home, the International Children’s Community Choir and Ballroom Dancers, Elyas and Allisa Jasmine,” event organiser Marlene Fox said at a press conference held at Komtar this afternoon.

The two-day event to be held from Nov 24 to 25, from 19.30am to 10.30pm daily will see many Christmas related products, plus the opportunity to win prizes on the spot from the IWA Tombola.

Marlene added there will be schools’ music performances, a wu-shu demonstration, line dancers, Christmas carollers, singers and musicians and others.
“All in all, two great days are being planned with something for everyone,” she stressed.

Meanwhile, Phee said Christmas is a time to be joyful and not to forget the less fortunate people.

“This event has grown from supporting eight charities at the first event in 2011 to over 40 local charities and NGOs this year,” he added.
