A HEALTH awareness campaign and a Jualan Rahmah programme were held at Taman Jelutong Jaya for the Sungai Pinang yesterday (Jan 21).
Organised by the Lions Club George Town Central with the collaboration with Sungai Pinang service centre, the event saw active participation from constituents, including the younger ones.
Sungai Pinang assemblyman Lim Siew Khim said she was glad that her constituents realised the importance of health awareness.
“They come for blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol checks. We aim to let them have a better understanding on the importance of health.
“Aside from that, there is also a Jualan Rahmah programme to assist the B40 family during these challenging times,” said Lim, who is also state Social Development, Non-Religious and Welfare Committee chairman.
During the campaign, many attendees came with their familes in this community-oriented initiative
