Sunway Carnival Mall supports local communities

SUNWAY Carnival Mall donated RM40,000 to the Penang Care Society (PSC) to help families and individuals affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The mall’s general manager Chai Wen Yew presented the mock cheque as part of its corporate social responsibility to Penang Care Society pro-tem chairman Dr Ngoo Seong Boon at the mall premises recently.

Chai said the mall celebrated the recent two festive seasons – Christmas and Chinese New Year – with meaningful CSR initiatives under the theme, ‘Together For Good’.

“ From Nov 19 to Jan 2, 2022 and from Jan 7 to Feb 20, the mall had partnered with Penang Care Society to help the underprivileged.

Shoppers were invited to purchase the reusable jute bag for RM10 to support Sunway Carnival Mall’s CSR programme.

“We also apportioned our festive budget to help those who are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“What we did was we invited shoppers to take part in this joint effort to support local communities by purchasing an eco-friendly reusable jute bag for RM10. All proceeds were directed to the Penang Care Society,” Chai said.

Dr Ngoo thanked Sunway Carnival Mall for their support and expressed hopes that other establishments would also lend a hand.

Others present at the cheque presentation ceremony were Sunway Carnival Mall senior marketing manager Wong Shu Ying, PCS secretary Cefinny Teh Jin Pei, treasurer Keng Soo Peng and committee member Felxi Chuah Gim Chuan.
