THE Royal Thai Embassy in Malaysia is keen on holding a trade fair in Penang this year, according to Minister Counsellor (Commercial) Worawan Wanwil.

Worawan, accompanied by marketing officer Arseem Mukem, made a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow at Komtar today to express their interest in holding a business fair.

“We want to explore more business opportunities for Thai exporters and also for the local business people here to source products.

“We plan to have B2B (business matching) and B2C (joint promotion with retailers and importers),” said Worawan, who also proposed to have a wall painting at a Thai restaurant to be jointly done by Thai and Malaysian artists.

Chow, who has always been a strong supporter of the annual Thai exhibition and food fair organised by the Thai consulate in Penang, warmly welcomed Worawan and Arseem during their visit.

“We welcome any effort to strengthen our bilateral trade. We are keen to collaborate and assist in any way,” Chow said.
