The Penang Pesta International Bowling – a popular haunt for bowlers, says president of PTBPP.

COME December 7, the 46th Penang Pesta International Bowling Championship 2018 will take off at Megamall Bowling Centre, in mainland Prai in Penang.

The championship from Dec 7 to 15, will see some 500 participants from 16 countries like Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Brunei, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Japan Korea, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.

“World Champions presence shall be felt at this year’s Championship. Freshly crowned Gold Medallists Adrian Ang and Tun Al-Hakim of Malaysia in the Doubles event of the World Men Championship 2018 and Australia’s Sam Cooley who recently won the AMF World Cup 2018 in USA have confirmed their participation,” president of Persatuan Tenpin Bowling Pulau Pinang (PTBPP), Datuk Seri Farizan Darus said at a mock cheque presentation ceremony this afternoon in Komtar.

Also present were secretary of PTBPP, Cheah Ban Cheng and director of Penang Sports Council, Federick Tan.

At the function, Farizan presented mock cheques to seven organisations, namely E & O Property Berhad, Nestle’ Products Sdn Bhd – MILO, Penang Sports Council, Ban Heang Sdn Bhd, Mega Mall Bowling Centre, Vouk Hotel Suites, Penang, StarChamp Enterprise Sdn Bhd and Spin Sportswear.

Farizan said with the support of generous sponsors, PTBPP is able to continue hosting this popular International Bowling Championship event in Malaysian Bowling history.

“In our pro-activeness to promote Penang as the preferred choice of Tourism destination, participants in our championship would be invited to tour our UNESCO Heritage City as well as to partake in our local cuisines.

“The island’s charm with its historic landscape, authentic local food cuisine and warm hospitality now enhanced by modern architecture is an additional attraction,” he commented.
