IN the past, when Datuk Seri Najib Razak was the prime minister, he could attract tens of thousands of people, says Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.

“Here, we let the numbers speak for themselves,” Chow said.

He was responding to a question by a journalist whether the Chinese voters in Penang were swaying towards the Barisan Nasional coalition after Najib visited the state.

Chow said that hundreds of people were seen crowding the places where Najib had visited on Friday and Saturday (March 25 and 26).

“He could probably be happy with (obtaining) 100 or 200 votes. If he is happy, then I am happy (for him) too,” Chow added.

Najib, who visited the state on March 25 and 26, met with the Chinese community clan leaders and conducted walkabouts at a clan jetty, a popular food court and at a night market.
