EXCO for Agriculture & Agro Based Industry, Rural Development and Health, Dr Afif Bahardin stressed that village visits programs aims to monitor progress of projects and solve long outstanding issues in the local communities.

Dr Afif said when he officiated the closing ceremony of village visits 2018 in the south west district on December 20 held at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kongsi in Balik Pulau.

Earlier this week, Dr Afif has made similar visits in districts of Seberang Perai Utara and Seberang Perai Selatan.

For the December 20 visit Afif and his team visited four places, namely barber Shahrizal Hakeeb in Bukit Gedung, cafe owner Mat Jamil Saad, single mother Zarina Yusof and Pusat Gait Mara, Balik Pulau.

On a related matter, Afif highlighted the issue of no certificate of fitness (CF) issued for the expansion plan of Kolej Kemahiran Mara in Balik Pulau.

“Existingly the college can only accommodate 400 students for its courses.
“With full capacity, the college can have some 1,200 students.

” I appeal to MBPP and the contractor to help solve this long standing issue, so the plight of students can be addressed soonest ” he stressed.

Meanwhile, Shahrizal Hakeeb barber shop at Bukit Gedung were aided with a basin shampoo chair and a super steling combo, while Delicious Cafe got aid of a vacuum selling machine and a sauce mixer. Besides, Zarina Yusof of Titi Teras were given a housing unit costing some RM30,000

At Pusat Giat Mara in Jalan Besar, Balik Pulau, Dr Afif was briefed on the various training activities held at the centre, namely Electrical, Stitching, Cooking and Automotive.
