Yummy delights at Deepavali open house

PEOPLE from all walks of life, many dressed in colourful traditional attire, thronged the Deepavali open house hosted by Penang Deputy Chief Minister II Prof Dr P. Ramasamy here.

 

The guests were warmly greeted by Dr Ramasamy and his wife K. Kalaiarasi when they arrived at their residential home at Villa Mutiara, Simpang Ampat today.

 

Dr Ramasamy said he was happy to see people of different beliefs gathered to celebrate the spirit of togetherness.

 

“This is the uniqueness of Malaysia,” he said, adding that he was pleased to note that the number of guests visiting his open house has been increasing over the years.

 

The hundreds of guests were treated to a sumptuous array of traditional Indian food such as ghee rice, roti canai, tosai and curry.

 

Also present were Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and his wife Tan Lean Kee.

 

Other distinguished guests were DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang, state exco members Phee Boon Poh and Yeoh Soon Hin, state Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Law Choo Kiang, Bukit Tambun assemblyman Goh Choon Aik as well as Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) mayor Datuk Rozali Mohamud and MBSP secretary Rosnani Mahmod.
