PENANG Deputy Chief Minister II Jagdeep Singh Deo has been actively keeping abreast of the latest industry developments in the state.

Jagdeep, who oversees the Human Capital Development, Science and Technology portfolio, visited the ViTrox Corporation Berhad in Batu Kawan Industrial Park (BKIP) today to understand the organisation structure and business operations.

ViTrox, a vision-inspection equipment maker, has received numerous national and international recognitions and awards for its outstanding performance in product development and corporate performance, as well as human resource development over the years.

At present, ViTrox is well recognised as one of the world’s leading automated machine vision inspection solution providers with an extensive customer base in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, China, Japan, South Korea, India, Australia, Europe, Brazil, Mexico and the United States (US).

Jagdeep was welcomed by ViTrox chief executive officer and president Chu Jenn Weng upon arrival and was briefed by him on the company’s business operations, policies and strategies.

He was also taken on a tour of the facility to understand the company’s operations as well as view the equipment and machinery.

Later on, Jagdeep was also taken on a tour around the ViTrox College which is located at the same site as its plant.

The college was officiated by Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow in February this year.

It provides industry-centric, inspiring and inclusive education with a strong emphasis on promoting a practical learning environment to address talent shortage in the state.

At the end of the visit, Jagdeep thanked Chu for his warm hospitality.

Jagdeep also commended ViTrox for coming up with its initiative to produce and nurture talent through its education centre, ViTrox College.
