Buzzing weekend ahead as Penang is set to host two large-scale events

PENANG will be buzzing this weekend with various activities as it will host two major events, namely the Penang International Food Fair (PIFF) Festival 2023 finale and the Penang International Halal Expo and Conference (PIHEC) 2023.

 

PIFF is scheduled to take place on June 24 and 25 at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre, Setia SPICE outdoor car park, Setia SPICE Rooftop Garden and the Setia SPICE Arena, while PIHEC will be held from June 23 to 25 at Setia SPICE Convention Centre and Arena.

 

 

State Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin said at the outdoor car park area, visitors will be able to feast on various mouth-watering local and international delights served by food stalls and food trucks specially handpicked for the festival.

 

“Meanwhile, foodies, culture cravers, music lovers and shopaholics alike will find much to discover at the SPICE Rooftop Garden.

 

“There, they will be able to indulge in appetising eats offered by food stalls operated by notable cafes, restaurants and hotels and experience a cultural extravaganza with an exciting line-up of diverse performances,” Yeoh said in his speech during a press conference at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre on June 19.

 

State Entrepreneurial Development, Trade and Industry Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Halim Hussain said that the PIHEC will consist of four-panel sessions, several parallel programmes and a trade expo, focusing on three critical sectors, namely the halal trade and travel, modest fashion and halal tech.

 

“There will also be exciting cultural performances, meet and greet sessions, cooking demonstrations and many more to add to the excitement of the conference,” Abdul Halim said.

 

Organised by Dreamz Productions Events Management and Penang Halal International, the two events are open to all for free.
